Mutton chukka recipe- Famous Indian Recipes – Mutton Fry

How to prepare mutton chukka recipe ?

Spicy and tempting south Indian style Mutton Chukka recipe. Complete instructions to make tasty mutton chukka.

Ingredients:

For marination:

  • Mutton – 1/2kg (washed)
  • Curd – ½ cup
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Steps for marination:

  1. First wash the mutton and mix with above ingredients for marination.
  2. Mix well mutton and keep it aside for minimum 30 minutes.

For Sauteing:

  • Oil- 3 spoons
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 1 (chopped)
  • Green chilli – 3 no’s
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Tomato – 1(finely chopped)

Steps to cook mutton in pressure cooker:

  1. First heat the pressure cooker, then add oil. When oil is heated add mustard seeds allow it to splutter, add onion and fry for a minute, then add green chili and curry leaves, finally add tomatoes and allow it to mushy.
  2. Next add the mutton pieces and fry for few seconds, add 1 cup water and close with lid
  3. Allow it to cook for 20 minutes (5 whistles)
  4. Don’t take the Pressure, it will cool down naturally

Ingredients for preparing mutton chukka:

For Sauteing:

  • Ghee or oil – 3 spoons
  • Cinnamon -1 stick
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 1 big (chopped)
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 spoon
  • Green chilli – 2 no’s
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Tomato – 1(big finely chopped)
  • spices
  • Garam masala – 2 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder – a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

For grinding:

  • Grated coconut – 1 cup
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
  • Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
  • Grind the above ingredients with little amount of water and keep it a side.

Steps to prepare mutton chukka recipe:

  1. In a pan add oil or ghee, and then add fennel seeds allow it to splutter, add cinnamon, onion and fry till it become golden brown, add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute till the raw smell will disappear.
  2. Next add green chilli, curry leaves, tomatoes allow it to turn mushy.
  3. Next add cooked mutton, then add all spices and fry for minute, then add grinded masala with little amount of water and allow it to boil (the raw smell of grinded masala fully disappear).
  4. Finally garnish with coriander leaves.
  5. Now hot and spicy mutton chukka is ready to eat.
